Options of treatment for mesotelioma - the X-ray
This treatment involves the local use of radiation of high dose (as X-rays) to treat a malignant tumor. Usually, it is not a primary treatment, but it is used in conjunction with other therapies like surgical resection and the quimoterapia. It is used generally to reduce the size of a symptomatic tumor and to alleviate the symptoms as the pain and the lack of breath.
The factors that can limit the use of this treatment include the volume of the tumor and its proximity to the vital organs.
